Immaculate Heart Girls School Nyakibale Passes 1,118 Patriots, Concludes 8-Day Co-Curricular Activities.

Rukungiri: Immaculate Heart Girls School Nyakibale has passed out 1,118 student patriots and concluded its eight-day co-curricular activities.

The event took place on June 7, at the school premises in Eastern Division, Rukungiri Municipality.

The day began with a passing-out ceremony for the 1,118 student patriots, officiated by the Rukungiri Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Steven Nsubuga Bewayo. The students, mainly from Senior One and Senior Five, participated in the event before engaging in various co-curricular activities including football, volleyball, netball, woodball, athletics, and other games.

According to the sports teacher, Gervasious Atamba, the co-curricular activities began on 30th June and ended on 7th July 2025.

Atamba added that through these activities, the school has managed to participate in district, regional, and national competitions in various sports disciplines.

In her speech, the headteacher, Sister Sabina Tumusiime, appreciated the staff, participants, and invited guests for honoring the occasion. She emphasized that such activities help learners to develop their talents and show that the school focuses not only on academics but also on sports and other disciplines that give students a broader skillset.

The guest of honor, RDC Steven Nsubuga Bewayo, accompanied by assistant RDC Kellen Kagisha, urged the students to love their country, Uganda, saying there is no better country in the world. He encouraged them to be disciplined, hardworking, and resilient if they want to succeed in life.

He further advised learners to embrace sports and other hands-on skills, noting that government jobs are limited and talents can also provide a source of income.

The function concluded with an award ceremony for participants who competed in their respective color groups such as blue, yellow, grey, red, green, and purple. The red team was declared the overall winner.
