First Lady Kataha Museveni castigates corruption among leaders.
Ntungamo: The minister of Education and sports Janet Kataha Museveni has condemned leaders who are impeding Uganda’s development by stealing government resources that are always disbursed to develop the citizens.
Mrs. Museveni who is also the first lady was speaking at the PDM Monitoring, Evaluation and implementation function held in Mahega village, Katojo parish, Rubare town council, Ntungamo District.
She condemned PDM beneficiaries who received funds and diverted them to paying school fees instead of investing in developmental projects. The minister advised such people to take their children to seed schools where there is no paying tuition.
She in the same vein rebuked men who are using the PDM funds to marry many women, describing the decision as a recipe for disaster.
Carder Geoffrey Mucunguzi, the Ntungamo Resident District commissioner (RDC) commended the secretariat leading parish Development programme for pitching a camp in Ntungamo district.
He said that the coming of the first lady in Ntungamo is timely because it will help the district to lead others in PDM implementation. RDC Mucunguzi said his office is committed to fighting bribery and criminality in the District.
The function was attended by different leaders including the Rushenyi County MP Hon. Naome Kabasharira, MP Kajara County Hon. Timuzigu Michael, District Woman Mp. Hon. Josyln Baata Kamateneti, DRDC Ntungamo Rosemary Atuhaire, DPC SSP Bushaija Hannington among others.
