Christ the King Parish SACCO Urges Members to Boost Savings and Ownership at 6th AGM
Rukungiri: Members of Christ the King Parish SACCO in Rukungiri Municipality have been urged to cultivate a strong sense of ownership and actively participate in saving in order to strengthen the SACCO’s growth and maximize benefits.
The call was made by Patricia Kukunda, the General Manager of Stanbic Bank Rukungiri Branch, who officiated as the chief guest during the SACCO’s 6th Annual General Meeting held at Christ the King Parish Main Hall on March 28.
Kukunda emphasized the importance of responsible financial management, encouraging members to use their accounts appropriately and invest borrowed funds in income-generating activities that can improve household livelihoods.
The Chairperson of the Board of Directors, George Owakukiroru Tumwesigye, highlighted the SACCO’s steady growth. He revealed that share capital increased from UGX 128,100,000 in 2024 to UGX 203,883,800, in 2025 while fixed deposits rose from UGX 120,400,000 to UGX 244,330,000.
Tumwesigye further noted improvements in service delivery, particularly through the introduction of the MSACCO platform, which enables members to save, withdraw, and apply for loans conveniently using their mobile phones. He also proposed an increase in the maximum loan liability from UGX 300 million to UGX 400 million to further expand access to credit.
The SACCO Manager, Penelope Ainembabazi, encouraged members to update their account details to ease enrollment onto the MSACCO platform and fully benefit from the digital services.
The meeting concluded successfully with the recognition and awarding of best-performing members, including Amon Mbaho and ten others, for their outstanding commitment and contribution to the SACCO’s growth.
