Christ the King parish Rukungiri seeks 7.5 million to host youth conference.

Rukungiri: Christ the king parish Rukungiri  is seeking over 7.5 million shillings to host a 4 day youth conference scheduled to run from 24th to 28th January 2024 at the church premises. 

This was revealed by the Youth chairperson for Christ the King Catholic Parish Mucunguzi James in a meeting held on 20th January 2024 at Christ the king Catholic Church parish in Rukungiri municipality yesterday.  

The meeting was attended by the youth representatives from 22 catholic churches in the parish. 

Mucunguzi told our reporter that in this conference, the youths will be taught much about the word of God. He further said that they will be equipped with skills making soap and weaving hand bags.

He rallied the youths to attend this conference irrespective of their religious denomination. 

Fr Henry Barekye of Christ the king parish asked the youths who attended the meeting to unlock their potentials and exploit them because they are still energetic.

He also told them to have a high level of responsibility and called for unity so that the conference can be successful. 

Mackline Ankunda, a youth leader from Nyakahanga Catholic Church in Masya parish of Nyakagyeme sub-county Rukungiri told our reporter that last year’s conference transformed the lives of many youths.

She is optimistic that the upcoming conference will change her life and draw her much closer to God.
