Chahafi HCIV struggles with no transport means for referral cases
Chahafi health center IV in Kisoro district is struggling to transport patients to referral hospitals due to lack of an Ambulance.
The Murora sub county district councillor Innocent Irankunda Kagyenza says that ever since the health center was elevated from a health center III to a health center IV they don’t have an ambulance and this has affected them in transporting patients to the referral hospitals like Kisoro and Mutolere.
Irankunda says that the people with patients provide the means of transport and mainly use Boda-Bodas and taxis to transport their patients to referral hospitals.
The Permanent Secretary for Ministry of Health Dr Diana Atwiine says Chahafi health center IV will soon receive a new ambulance to support the referral services of the health center.
