Centenary Bank Donates Water Tanks to Boost Hygiene at Our Lady of Good Counsel School

Rukungiri: Centenary Bank Rukungiri Branch has donated two water tanks of 5,000 litres each, worth UGX 2,500,000, to Our Lady of Good Counsel Nursery and Primary School Nyakibale. The donation aims to address the persistent water shortage at the school.

The handover ceremony was held on March 21, at the school premises in Nyakibale, Rukungiri Municipality.

While handing over the tanks, the branch manager, Brian Kasaija, said the bank decided to support the school after its excellent performance in the 2025 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE). He added that the donation is also intended to improve water access and hygiene at the school, which has over 600 pupils and more than 25 teachers.

Kasaija noted that a healthy learning environment is important for effective education. He also appreciated the school for being a consistent customer of the bank.

While receiving the tanks, the headteacher, Sr. Jane Tuombe Musoki, expressed gratitude to Centenary Bank for the support. She explained that the school has been facing serious water shortages due to unreliable supply from National Water and Sewerage Corporation, which is often inconsistent.

She added that the school has been spending a lot of money on fetching water, and the donation will greatly reduce those costs and improve sanitation.

Sr. Musoki also thanked Brian Kasaija for considering the school and pledged continued support and partnership with Centenary Bank.

Meanwhile, the Customer Service Consultant at Centenary Bank Rukungiri Branch, Onesmus Atukwasa, encouraged the public to seek services from the bank, citing its reliable services and favorable loan interest rates.
