Buliisa House Fire claim two lives
Buliisa: Two people have died in the fire that gutted a house in Buliisa district.
The deceased have been identified as Jackline Bidong 40 and Grace Faling 43, both residents of Kamagongoro village, Walukuba parish in Butiaba sub-county, Buliisa district.
The incident happened on Wednesday at around 3 a.m.
It is alleged that unknown people raided the home where the two women were sleeping and set their grass-thatched house on fire.
Residents saw flames from the house and rushed but they could not do much to save the lives since the fire had spread to the entire house and burnt them beyond recognition.
Malitabu Mugenyi, the Butiaba sub-county LCIII Chairperson asked the police to thoroughly investigate the matter and ensure that the culprits are apprehended.
In January, a 21-year-old woman was burnt to death in her grass-thatched house in Kibengeya village in Kapapi sub-county in Hoima district. The deceased was then identified as Charity Alinaitwe.
