Aspiring Rujumbura MP Frank Rukanirwa Donates Minibus and Uniforms to Support Local Football Clubs.

Rukungiri: Aspiring Member of Parliament for Rujumbura constituency in Rukungiri district Hon. Frank Rukanirwa, has donated a minibus to Rwenshama Rangers and Rwenshama Football Club. Both clubs, located in Bwambara Subcounty, recently qualified for the FUFA Western Regional League this season.

In an interview with our reporter on October 28, 2024 at Hills Inn Hotel in Bwambara, Rukanirwa explained that the clubs, while eager to participate, lack sufficient resources. He noted that, without organized ticket sales or regular fan contributions, the teams struggle to meet their needs, especially for away games.

Rukanirwa shared that both clubs had reached out to him for support, explaining their challenges. As a strong supporter of sports in the region, he decided to provide a minibus to help with transport for away matches.

He further expressed his vision of seeing young athletes from Rukungiri and the Kigezi region grow to represent their home at national and international levels.

Additionally, Benon Kanyesigye, Rukanirwa’s political assistant, confirmed that Rukanirwa donated a set of uniforms to each team and that he remains committed to supporting local sports.
