Rukungiri: More than 300 Primary Seven candidates in Southern Division of Rukungiri Municipality have received scholastic materials worth 1.5 million shillings donated by Kanyinya Ward Municipal Councillor Gidion Turyamubugana to help them prepare for their Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE), which begin next week.

The donation was made on October 26, across six schools: Kitazigurukwa Primary School, Rukungiri Primary School, Nyakibale Lower Primary School, Marumba Christians Nursery and Primary School, Kakonkoma Primary School, and Aunt Alvis Mikkola Nursery and Primary School.

The materials included mathematical sets and pens for Primary Seven candidates, while Primary Six pupils in some of the schools also benefited from the donation.

Speaking during the exercise, Turyamubugana said some learners come from financially struggling families and may find it difficult to afford scholastic materials.

He said the donation was intended to support the candidates as they prepare for their final examinations and motivate them to work hard and achieve good results.
