Country Radio 87.6 FM Launches Mega Boda Boda Festival 2026.

Rukungiri: Country Radio 87.6 FM has officially launched the Boda Boda Festival 2026, with the major event scheduled to take place on 28th November 2026.

The event was on Friday August 21, 2026 launched at the station premises located in Kifunjo cell, Kyatoko ward, Eastern Division, Rukungiri Municipality.

Speaking at the launch, country radio manager Jackie Tumuheirwe aka Auntie Jackie revealed that the Boda Boda Festival 2026 aims to recognize the services of Boda Boda riders, teach them road safety measures as well as financial discipline.

Auntie Jackie rallied the riders and the rest of the community to embrace the festival saying it’s intentions are for the good of the people.

She alluded to some of the activities that will be held before and on the day of the event including football matches for Boda Boda riders, Rukungiri Miss Boda Boda pageantry, Boda Boda racing, wrestling, among others.

The Vice chairperson for Boda Boda riders in Rukungiri district Julius Kahigyiriza welcomed the initiative, thanking country radio for appreciating the job done by the Boda Boda industry.

He said they will offer the necessary support for the event to succeed.

On his part, the Chairperson of Country Radio Listeners club Onesimus Karuma commended the station for being non partisan in it’s three years of existence, further affirming that the radio station’s listenership has greatly increased.

The first Boda Boda Festival activation  will be the Boda Boda football matches for Nyarushanje sub-county which will be held on Saturday 29th August 2026.

The event runs under the theme “Safety first, Hustle bigger”.
