Rev. Benon Besigye Installed as Parish Priest of St. Peter’s Kyamurari

Rukungiri: Rev. Benon Besigye has been installed as the new Parish Priest of St. Peter’s Church of Uganda, Kyamurari, in Nyakagyeme Sub-county, Nyakagyeme Archdeaconry.

The installation service held on August 9, was presided over by the Archdeacon of Nyakagyeme Archdeaconry, Ven. Ronald Natuhwera.

Ven. Natuhwera urged religious leaders to remain vigilant and protect God’s people from evil.

He said the Church needs leaders who are alert and active in ministry. Ven. Natuhwera described a parish priest as a watchman who must remain awake and committed to serving God’s people.

Rev. Benon Besigye thanked God for the opportunity to serve and appreciated Ven. Ronald Natuhwera for presiding over his installation.

Rev. Besigye said that since his transfer to St. Peter’s Kyamurari Church of Uganda, he has planted coffee on about two hectares of land at the parish and has also been taking care of the existing parish plantation.

He said he is now planning to tile the parish priest’s house in the coming months.
