Christians Urged to Trust God Amid Challenges at Health Worker’s Thanksgiving

Rukungiri: Christians have been urged to remain hopeful and put their trust in God, regardless of the challenges they face in life.

The call was made on August 9, during a thanksgiving service for health worker Alex Twekwase Bucuuriro and his wife, Jovia Bucuuriro, at St. Andrew’s Gwakirungura Church of Uganda Parish in Kanyarurara Cell, Gwakirungura Parish, Buyanja Sub-county, Rubabo Constituency in Rukungiri District.

The service also included the baptism of the couple’s two daughters.

The thanksgiving service was attended by several guests, including the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Diana Atwine, NRM Workers’ League National Chairman Justus Niwanjuna Kamuhanda, health workers, local government leaders, clergy, and Christians.

In his sermon, the Dean and lecturer at Uganda Christian University in Mukono Rev Canon Brian Muhereza, encouraged Christians to remain steadfast in God and overcome challenges by staying strong and hopeful.

Rev. Muhereza urged believers to trust God rather than relying on people, material possessions, or other worldly things.

Speaking during the thanksgiving, Alex Twekwase Bucuuriro and his wife, Jovia, thanked everyone who attended and supported them.

Bucuuriro said he chose to hold the thanksgiving because he was raised in the Church and believes it is important, as a child of God, to give thanks for his family’s life while also supporting the Church.
