UPDF Recruits 206 Youth from Rukungiri and Kanungu Districts

Rukungiri: Uganda Peoples Defence Force UPDF has recruited 206 in Rukungiri and Kanungu districts at Rukungiri district offices.

The recruitment started with a recruitment exercise, medical checkup, running and physical exercise.

During the recruitment, the UPDF 2nd infantry Division public information Officer Maj Tabaro Kiconco, noted that the UPDF checks recruits before training to ensure candidates meet the required qualifications, age, and physical standards and to evaluate recruits’ physical ability to withstand military training and perform duties.

He revealed that they also conduct background checks like Screen for criminal records, security clearance, and other potential issues such as evaluating mental fitness.

Kiconco revealed that the people whom they have chosen will be taken to Kaweweta recruitment school. The recruitment exercise is still going on and tomorrow they will go to Bushenyi district headquarters recruiting those of Mitooma and Bushenyi districts.
