Two Juveniles Arrested for Murder of 14-Year-Old Boy in Rukungiri
Rukungiri: Police in Rukungiri District have arrested two teenage suspects over the murder of 14-year-old Kam Twinamatsiko, a student and resident of Nyarurambi Cell, Kasheshe Parish, Buyanja Sub County.
The incident happened on November 7, 2025, at around 8:00 p.m., when the deceased and his friend Edwin Niwenyesiga were reportedly waylaid by two boys identified as George Muhumuza (14) and Eden (16). One of the suspects was armed with a panga and allegedly cut Twinamatsiko on the head, accusing him of calling them pig thieves.
After the attack, the suspects fled the scene, and Niwenyesiga informed the deceased’s relatives, who rushed him to Nyakibale Hospital. He was later referred to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital, but sadly, he died on the way.
The case was reported to Buyanja Police Station by the deceased’s father, Kam Turinawe. Police visited and documented the crime scene, examined the body, and arrested the two suspects to assist with investigations.
According to ASP Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson, investigations into the matter are ongoing.
