Thieves Steal Property Worth Millions from Kitojo Church of Uganda Parish
Rukungiri: Thieves have broken into Kitojo Church of Uganda Parish in Nyabiteete Archdeaconry during the early hours of October 19th, 2025, and stolen church property and cash worth millions of shillings.
While preaching during a Sunday service at St. Luke’s Church of Uganda, Rugarama Sub-parish, the Parish Priest, Rev. Nathan Muhumuza, said the thieves made off with a laptop, an amplifier, and an unspecified amount of offertory money.
Rev. Nathan noted that although residents continue to protect their property, thieves are also advancing in their methods of stealing by using electricity and other modern techniques. He urged the congregation and the Gombolola Internal Security Officer (GISO) to work with Local Council I chairpersons to start night patrols to strengthen security in the area.

The priest also expressed concern about people who loiter aimlessly during the day and night, and those who spend the whole day in bars. He said such idleness creates an environment that encourages theft within the community.
