Students Advised to Stay Vigilant and Engage in Positive Activities
Rukungiri: Ambrose Garyahandere, speaking on behalf of an aspiring MP for Rujumbura Constituency in Rukungiri District Franka Arinaitwe Rukanirwa, urged students to remain vigilant and engage in constructive activities during their holidays.
Garyahandere said this during a graduation ceremony for nursery pupils transitioning to primary school at Mother Care Nursery and Primary School in Rugando Cell, Nyakinengo Parish, Nyakagyeme Subcounty in Rukungiri.
Ambrose emphasized the vital role of parents in protecting their children and taking full responsibility for their upbringing. He encouraged parents to teach essential domestic skills and instill discipline, explaining that these skills significantly shape young minds.
The school’s director, Cosmer Ryarimpa, highlighted the rapid enrollment growth despite the school starting only on February 6 this year. He urged parents to prepare holiday timetables that include both academic revision and hands-on domestic skills, ensuring a balanced approach to learning. He also stressed the importance of fostering good morals in children, strengthening bonds between teachers and pupils.
Nyakinengo Parish Councillor Dinah Makana Komujuni pointed out challenges students often face during holidays, particularly warning girls about the risks posed by boys who might exploit their free time. She encouraged girls to remain vigilant and safeguard themselves from potential dangers.
Mother Care Nursery and Primary School, currently with 353 pupils, celebrated the graduation of 38 pupils from the nursery section to the primary level.
