St. Paul’s Buyanja Rallies Parents and Learners to Embrace Discipline, Faith, and Development

St. Paul’s Vocational Secondary School Buyanja has turned its annual St. Paul’s Day celebration into a strong call for faith-driven discipline, parental engagement, and school development.

The event, held on June 28, in conjunction with the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul, began with a solemn Mass led by the Dean of Nyakibale Denary Rev. Fr. Dr. Julius Turyatoranwa,

In his homily, Fr. Turyatoranwa urged students to adopt the virtues of Saint Paul commitment to prayer, discipline, and hard work as guiding principles for academic and spiritual growth.

He described Saint Paul as a brilliant and passionate man whose transformation into a devoted Christian leader offers a blueprint for living a purpose-driven life rooted in faith and action.

The ceremony also saw Rev. Fr. Mathius Kwehangana, Chairperson of the Board of Governors, applaud the school staff for their commitment to teamwork and excellence. He warned against growing trends of student indiscipline and challenged parents to reinforce school values at home to build a morally upright generation.

The celebrations coincided with the school’s Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) general meeting, where parents were reminded of their vital role in their children’s academic journey. PTA Chairperson Rurema Francis commended the school’s progress and called for greater collaboration with parents to maintain quality standards.

Head teacher Patrick Tuhaisomujuni reported positive strides, citing a student population of 1,019. However, he pointed out key challenges including partial school fee payments, inadequate staff accommodation, water shortages, and the rising cost of school operations.

He appealed to parents to support infrastructure development and partner with the administration in finding lasting solutions.
