St. Gerald’s Day Celebrations Raise Over 43 Million Ugandan Shillings at Nyakibale
Rukungiri: St. Gerald’s Secondary School in Nyakibale on October 13, 2024 raised over 43 million Ugandan shillings during the St. Gerald’s Day celebrations, held at the school premises.
Presiding over the event, the Vicar General of Kabale Diocese, Monsignor Dr John Vianny Sunday, urged students to obey their parents and honor God in all they do, noting that this would lead them to success.
The chief guest Ponsiano Ngabirano, commonly known as Capital Shoppers, emphasized the importance of discipline for students. He also urged parents to avoid selling their land to finance university education, instead advising them to teach their children practical skills for self-reliance.
During the same function, the head teacher, Cleophas Agaba, expressed gratitude to the parents for their continuous support and assured the public that the funds collected would be used effectively to improve the school.
Among the notable attendees were the Rukungiri Municipality Member of Parliament, Dr. Elias Rutahigwa, who pledged 2 million shillings, the Dean of Nyakibale Parish Father Julius Turyatoranwa, and other distinguished guests.
