Son of Street Bread Vendor Shines with 4 Aggregates in 2025 PLE

Rukungiri: The son of a man who sells bread on a motorcycle in Rukungiri District has scored 4 aggregates in the 2025 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE).

The pupil has been identified as Given Nasasira, a student of Rubanga Parent’s Primary School, located in Nshungyenzi Trading Centre, Rubanga Parish, Buyanja Sub-County, Rukungiri District. Nasasira was among four pupils from the school who scored 4 aggregates in the PLE results that were released on January 30, 2025.

Nasasira’s father, Barnard Masiko Rutahwama, is a motorcycle rider who delivers bread from Ainembabazi Bakery to different trading centres within Rukungiri District. In an interview with our reporter on January 31, Rutahwama said he has struggled to raise school fees through his work but thanked God and all the people who supported his children’s education.

However, he expressed concern that he is not sure whether he will manage to pay school fees for his son’s secondary education.

The mother, Merab Namara, a resident of Ndere Parish in Ruhinda Sub-County, said she was very surprised by her son’s excellent performance and thanked Almighty God for the achievement.
