Rwandan National arrested over defiling own daughter.

Rukiga: Police in Rukiga district have arrested a Rwandan national, Fosta Twizemana, for allegedly defiling his 6-year-old biological daughter.

Twizemana, a herdsman from Kayebe Cell, Kigara Parish in Kamwezi Sub-County, is accused of committing the offense on Friday July 26, 2024 in a farm where he was grazing cattle. He had gone to the farm with his wife, Veneranda Baresirente (40), and their two daughters, aged 2 and 6.

While at the farm, Twizemana called the children away from their mother, who was digging.

He then sent the 2-year-old away and sexually assaulted the 6-year-old. After the naughty act, he sent her back to her mother.

Upon arrival, the mother noticed the child sitting alone and observed blood stains on her thighs. When questioned, the child revealed that her father had defiled her.

Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson, condemned the act describing it as barbaric and uncivilized, questioning how a parent could betray a child’s trust in such a manner. Maate stated that the suspect will be arraigned in court once inquiries are complete.
