Rusheshe Community Joins Hands to Restore Key Bridge Linking Buhunga Sub-County Parishes
Rukungiri: Rusheshe Boda Boda stage riders have officially launched communal work to rehabilitate Kasharara Bridge along Rusheshe Road in Buhunga Sub-County.
Speaking to our news reporter on September 19, the chairperson of Rusheshe Boda Boda stage, Ivan Namanya, confirmed that the bridge connects Kyaruyeje and Rusheshe parishes.
Namanya explained that Kasharura Bridge has long posed significant challenges in transporting both people and goods. He added that the rehabilitation will ease transportation, which will in turn boost community development.

The vice chairperson Edrisa Byamukama, together with riders Yusufu Bashaija and Collins Mutungi, also noted that they have long struggled with transport difficulties. They expressed optimism that fixing the bridge will improve the flow of goods and services, stimulating economic growth in the area.

The LC3 chairperson of Buhunga Sub-County, Benon Mugisha, revealed that the road from Omukikuniko to Rusheshe falls under the district’s responsibility. He said he has already invited the district engineer to support the completion of the project.
According to Mugisha, the bridge is a key development project that will ease access to schools and health facilities, while also enhancing economic activities in the community.
