Rukungiri youth secretary for finance Amon Nayebare tips youth on development.
Rukungiri: The Rukungiri district youth secretary for finance Amon Nayebare Kanunu has rallied youth to engage in activities that can change their welfare if they are to have a brighter future.
Nayebare was speaking after the final match of the tournament he sponsored which was played at Kasoroza playground on Friday January 2, 2026 in Kasoroza, Nyakagyeme sub-county, Rukungiri district.
He asked the youths to look at a bigger picture beyond sports by forming groups which can easily attract sponsors mostly leaders.

Nayebare said, much as football is good for the youths, but in Africa, it is still considered as a hobby. He further reminded residents that no particular politician will ever call people from their homes to give them free money asking them to work hard and earn a decent living.
Nayebare promised to keep sponsoring the tournament annually.
Being a political season, Nayebare amassed support for NRM presidential candidate Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and Minister Jim Muhwezi Katugugu who is holding the NRM flag for Rujumbura county in the January 15, 2026 polls.

Emmy Tofayo who was the chairperson organizing committee of the tournament commended Amon Kanunu and all other stakeholders for sponsoring the tournament saying such help, plays a critical role in improving and identifying youth talent in their area.
He said they are sure of the continuity of the tournament with commitment of support from Nayebare who is the youth chairperson for Nyakagyeme sub-county.

On his part, the candidate for Nyakagyeme sub-county district councilor on NRM ticket Dr Felex thanked Nayebare for sharing his meagre resources with the people of Nyakagyeme and pledged to support him and youths whenever he gets the call.
He asked the youths to support him in his seeking of councilorship.
Kasoroza Trading center FC emerged champions after smashing Kabura FC with one goal that came in the second half.

The winning team was given a trophy and a whooping cash of 400,000 Ugandan shillings. Each participating team and best individual performers received prizes.
