Rukungiri Police investigates Edson Byaruhanga’s Murder

Rukungiri: Police in Rukungiri are investigating circumstances under which a 45 year old man Edson Byaruhanga died.

The deceased, a resident of Ruhira cell Kazindiro parish Bugangari sub county Rukungiri district, was discovered unconscious on Tuesday 5th March 2024 at around 02:00 pm at Kazindiro trading centre by bypassers.

It’s alleged that on the fateful day at Kazindiro Trading Centre, the deceased was found lying unconscious Infront of Sarah’s bar by Owakubariho Aggrey.

He rushed to his home and alerted his wife, one Tumuhirwe Allen, who also informed her father in law Rukanyemera Bernard, Ampaire Justine and others.

They went to the scene and called Sidi Karerangaro who brought a vehicle and transported him to Nyakibale hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival and the body was taken back home.

Police at Bugangari was notified by the area chairperson Ruhindi Twijukye who reported a case of suspected murder. The crime scene was visited by security officers who examined and documented it.

The Kigezi police spokesperson ASP Elly Maate confirmed the incident saying that inquiries into the matter are at hand, and whoever may be having clues that can lead police to those behind his death, should volunteer it so that perpetrators are brought to book.
