Rukungiri police hunts for assailants who hacked to death a 29 year old man .

Rukungiri: Police in Rukungiri are hunting for yet unknown suspects who were involved in the murder of a 29 old Medard Turyasingura a resident of Bigaga cell Rwerere town council Rukungiri district.

It’s alleged that, on Tuesday at around 08:00am, at Ruhiira cell Kazindiro parish Bugangari sub-county, while Kiconco Apophia was in her garden digging got information from Twinamatsiko Bruce who was bypassing where she was digging, that there was a dead body lying along the footpath near her garden.

She went and witnessed it, prompting her to make an alarm which attracted local residents who gathered at the crime scene.

She alerted the area chairperson who also reported the matter to police.

A case of murder was registered at Bugangari police station and the crime scene was visited, examined and documented by a team of detectives from homicide.

The body was conveyed to Rwakabengo HC III mortuary for postmortem.

ASP Elly Maate, the Kigezi Regional police spokesperson confirmed the incident and told our reporter that inquiries are at hand.
