Rukungiri Municipality Ranks 5th in 2024 PLE Results Nationwide
Rukungiri: Rukungiri Municipality has been ranked fifth in Uganda in the 2024 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE).
This was revealed by Rukungiri Municipal Senior Inspector of Schools, Juliet Musimenta, on January 24, during a meeting with headteachers held at the municipality to discuss the PLE results.
Musimenta reported that a total of 1,192 candidates sat for the exams in Rukungiri Municipality. Of these, 435 passed in Division I, 639 in Division II, 86 in Division III, 12 in Division IV, 12 were ungraded, and 5 scored in Division X.
She congratulated government schools for outperforming private schools, noting that government schools produced 231 candidates in Division I compared to 204 from private schools. Musimenta thanked government teachers for their efforts and urged them to aim for even better results in the future.
The chairperson for headteachers in Rukungiri Municipality, Bruno Mugisha, also expressed his gratitude to his colleagues. He commended them for their dedication, saying the good results demonstrate that they are fulfilling their responsibilities as headteachers.
