Rukungiri Municipality Launches UGX 551 Million School Renovation Project
Rukungiri: Rukungiri Municipality has launched a school renovation and construction project worth UGX 551 million in four different schools.
According to the Rukungiri Municipal Education Officer, Robert Agume, the project aims to improve learning conditions and infrastructure in both primary and secondary schools across the municipality.
St. Gerald’s Secondary School received the largest share, with UGX 400 million allocated for the renovation of a block that includes administration offices, classrooms, and a computer laboratory. The contract was awarded to Kinombe Nyaruzinga Construction Company Limited.
At Kahororo Primary School, UGX 97 million was allocated for the construction of a two-classroom block, a project awarded to Rwenkurijo Contractors.
Kiyanga Primary School received UGX 32 million for the construction of a four-stance latrine, and the contract was given to Tam Consultancy and Procurement Limited.
Meanwhile, UGX 20 million was allocated to renovate a four-classroom block at Kashozi Primary School, with Kyatooko Construction Supplies taking on the contract.

During the launch on October 29, a team led by the Rukungiri Assistant Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Dickens Muhoozi urged contractors to use quality materials and complete the projects on schedule to ensure durability and value for money.
The event was attended by the Town Clerk, Mayor, DISO, and other leaders from the schools and Rukungiri Municipal Council.
