Rukungiri Legends Foundation Wins 2025 Corporate Club League Trophy 

Rukungiri: Rukungiri Legends Foundation has won the 2025 Annual Rukungiri Corporate Club League Trophy during the Corporate Clubs Day held at Rukungiri Main Stadium on February 23. 

The event brought together 22 corporate clubs. Legends Foundation was declared the winner after Kanungu Health Workers, which had qualified for the finals, was disqualified for fielding a licensed player. 

Rukungiri Corporate Club Chairperson Mathias Amanya emphasized that the tournament is strictly for non-licensed players aged 17 and above. He explained that the league was created to build connections and strengthen social capital among corporate professionals.

The founder of Legends Foundation Dickens Mugabe, expressed his joy after his team’s victory. He explained that the foundation was established to support orphans, pregnant women, and vulnerable children. It is made up of members from the business community and former football players in Rukungiri Municipality. 

Country Radio staff also participated in the tournament and was placed in Group E, where they earned 4 points from 3 matches. However, they were eliminated in the Round of 16 by Rukungiri Legends, the tournament winners.
