Rukungiri District Councilors Resolve to Benchmark in Wakiso and Parliament
Rukungiri: Rukungiri district councilors have resolved to conduct a benchmarking tour in Wakiso district this October to learn from best practices in local revenue collection.
The resolution was passed during a council sitting held on September 2, in the district council hall at Rukungiri district headquarters. The meeting was chaired by district speaker James Turyamubona, who represents Kebisoni Sub-County. He commended the council for their unity and commitment to working towards a common goal of improving service delivery.
As part of the same tour, councilors will also visit Parliament of Uganda to benchmark on good practices in legislation. Speaker Turyamubona reminded members that legislation is among the key roles of the district council and such exposure would sharpen their capacity.
Rukungiri District LC V Chairperson, Geoffrey Kyomukama, thanked the honorable councilors for effectively representing their people at district level. He assured the house of the district’s commitment to serve citizens through rehabilitation of roads, construction and renovation of schools, building of bridges, and extending water sources closer to communities, among other services.
Kyomukama added that tours of this nature will help leaders gain practical experience and knowledge that can be implemented in Rukungiri to strengthen service delivery.
