Rukungiri DFA Boss Buhe calls for Unity to promote the game of Football.

Rukungiri: Members of the Rukungiri District Football Association have been urged to work together and support each other in promoting football talent among the youth in the district.

The call was made  on Sunday April 5, 2025 by the newly elected Chairperson of the Rukungiri District Football Association Amos Arineitwe Buhe, who also contested as a delegate to represent the district at the regional level, during an interview with our news reporter at the district council hall, where the elections were held.

Arinaitwe was elected unopposed as chairperson and won the delegate seat with 15 votes, defeating three other contestants. He pledged to uplift football standards in the district, cooperate even with his opponents, and continue advocating for the development of the Rukungiri Main Stadium.

The Female Youth Councilor for Buyanja Town Council Brenda Tayebwa,  and Asan Kiiza, who both contested as delegates, promised to work together to fulfill their roles. They emphasized their commitment to developing youths talent through football and representing the district’s interests at the regional level.

The Chairperson of Referees in the Rukungiri District Football Association Memory Gumisiriza,  along with Promise Natuhwera and Hillary Tweyanze who all contested as delegates for referees to the region encouraged members to remain disciplined and ensure their concerns are addressed at the regional level.

They also promised to advocate for the welfare of referees in Rukungiri and help more of them rise to higher levels of football officiating.
