Rukungiri Councilors Donate Mathematical Sets to Primary 7 Pupils Ahead of PLE
Rukungiri: Primary Seven pupils in Rukungiri Municipality have received mathematical sets worth two million shillings from two Rukungiri municipal councilors as they prepare for their Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) scheduled for 6th to 7th November 2024.
The mathematical sets were distributed on October 21, 2024 by Gideon Turyamubugana, the municipal councilor representing Kanyinya Ward and Toffa Behimbisa, representing Northern A Ward. The councilors gave these gifts to help pupils succeed in their upcoming exams.
While distributing the sets, Turyamubugana expressed concern over the high level of absenteeism among candidates in schools. He urged school management committees to locate and encourage registered PLE candidates to attend and complete their final exams.
Toffa Behimbisa , also known as “Science,” emphasized the importance of hard work, especially for boys, noting that they are the future heads of families. He pointed out that while much focus has been on the girl child, many educated girls struggle to find partners who match their educational levels. Behimbisa advocated for more support for boys to ensure balanced and successful families in the future.
Peace Nimusiima, the head teacher of Kitazigurukwa Primary School, thanked the councilors for their support, noting that some parents struggle to provide all necessary scholastic materials and school fees. She encouraged the candidates to make good use of the mathematical sets and aim for success in their PLE.
