Rukungiri Civil Servants Urged to Prioritize Effective Service Delivery and Uphold Government Values

Rukungiri: Rukungiri Civil servants have been urged to prioritize effective service delivery and act as good ambassadors of the Government as they execute their duties.

This call was made on November 11, during a joint meeting of civil servants from Rukungiri District Local Government and Rukungiri Municipal Council, held in the District Council Hall and organized by the Regional Commissioner in charge of Kigezi–Ankole Region.

Speaking during the meeting, Col. Mwesigye James, the Regional Commissioner from the Office of the President, commended local government workers for their commitment in serving and safeguarding the achievements realized under the NRM Government.

He encouraged civil servants to remain patient as the Government continues to enhance salaries in a phased manner, in line with the President’s commitment.

In his remarks, Byekwaso Frederick, the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of Rukungiri District, reminded civil servants to appreciate the privilege of being among the 480,000 Ugandans directly employed by the Government and supported through the Consolidated Fund

He urged staff to ensure proper planning and accountability in the use of public resources to achieve tangible results.

The Deputy Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Wilberforce Ahimbisibwe Ongom, appealed to civil servants to exhibit patriotism and resilience in service delivery, emphasizing that Uganda’s development requires patience and unity of purpose.

The Town Clerk of Rukungiri Municipal Council, Tumwesigye Isaiah, pledged full support for Government programs and encouraged officers to apply their knowledge and skills to protect the gains made under the NRM Government.
