Rukungiri Assistant RDC Mable Mirembe Urges Journalists to Report Fairly
Rukungiri: As the world marks Press Freedom Day on May 3, the Assistant Resident District Commissioner (ARDC) for Rukungiri District, Mabel Mirembe Karazarwe, has encouraged journalists to uphold fairness and professionalism in their reporting.
Karazarwe made the remarks on May 2, during an interview with our news reporter at Country Radio FM, shortly after being hosted on the station’s popular morning program, Obusheshe.
She commended the role journalists play in promoting transparency, accountability, and development, but emphasized the importance of balanced and truthful reporting.
Karazarwe urged all journalists be fair and objective in their stories because the media has the power to build or break society, so it must be used responsibly.
She added that press freedom goes hand-in-hand with responsible journalism and called on media practitioners to avoid sensationalism, bias, and unverified information.
