Rukungiri A/RDC Thanks Residents for Voting NRM
Rukungiri: The Rukungiri Assistant Resident District Commissioner (A/RDC), Mabel Mirembe Karazarwe, has expressed her gratitude to the people of Rukungiri District for voting out the opposition and overwhelmingly supporting the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party.
Karazarwe noted that the NRM won all the four parliamentary seats in the district and secured nearly 90 percent of the positions in the recently concluded Local Council elections. These include the LC5 Chairperson, LC5 District Councillors, and representatives of Special Interest Groups such as the youth, elderly, people with disabilities, and workers.
Speaking in an interview with our reporter on January 26, Karazarwe said that Rukungiri had never registered such political success before. She explained that the district was previously known as a stronghold of the opposition in Uganda.
She applauded the residents for trusting the NRM and urged them to continue supporting the ruling party in the upcoming elections.
