Rujumbura MP Aspirant Rwendeire Launches Manifesto as Voters Endorse Him

Rukungiri:Rujumbura County Member of Parliament aspirant Rwendeire Murebire Junior has officially launched his manifesto in Kanyankyende Parish, Bugangari Sub-county, with several voters pledging to endorse him as their preferred candidate in the forthcoming general elections.

The independent candidate launched his manifesto on November 11, during a campaign rally held at Kanyankyende Trading Centre, where he met residents from across Rujumbura County who expressed confidence in his leadership after interacting with him.

While welcoming Rwendeire to the area, the LC1 Chairperson of Kanyankyende Trading Centre, Natukunda Daudi, voiced his disappointment with previous leaders whom residents had supported but who later abandoned them instead of lobbying for essential social services to improve livelihoods and reduce poverty.

Speaking on behalf of the community, Natukunda highlighted persistent challenges such as lack of clean water sources, poor electricity access, impassable roads, and inadequate health and education infrastructure. He urged Rwendeire to remain accountable and attentive to voters’ needs should he win the upcoming elections.

Residents led by Brian Agaba also criticized former leaders for betraying their trust and failing to prioritize grassroots development. They raised concerns over poor road networks, especially the Kashenyi–Kanyankyende–Njororo road, and continued water and electricity shortages as well as poor-quality education and health services.

In response, Rwendeire Murebire Junior pledged to dedicate himself to serving the people of Rujumbura, listening to their challenges, and lobbying for essential social services. He promised to maintain transparency through annual accountability meetings.

Rwendeire noted that despite being born and raised in Rujumbura, the area has seen little progress in development, particularly in education and poverty reduction.

Presenting his manifesto, Rwendeire prioritized free education, lobbying for tertiary institutions to tackle youth unemployment and poverty, school renovation projects, clean water and electricity supply, and pressuring government authorities to construct roads that support trade and economic growth.
