Ruhaama SS Receives Shs 1.9 billion Infrastructure Boost
Ntungamo: Ruhaama Secondary School in Ntungamo District has received new infrastructure worth 1.9 billion shillings, aimed at improving learning conditions and addressing space constraints.
The newly commissioned facilities include a computer laboratory complex, a multipurpose hall, six classroom block and two lined toilets with five stances each.
Speaking at the handover ceremony held at the school premises, Ntungamo District Chairperson Sam Mucunguzi Rwakigooba commended the government for it’s commitment to education and for supplementing parents efforts.
He noted that the new facilities would go a long way in addressing the school’s space challenges.
Ntungamo Deputy Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Rosemary Atuhaire applauded Edgar Kwesiga, the director of Goldina Contractors and General Supplies, for ensuring quality work and completing the project on schedule.
She also commended the Ministry of Education and Sports for prioritizing such crucial investments in the education sector.
Ntungamo District Chief Administrative Officer Mathius Ndifuna acknowledged the school’s board of governors for working closely with the government to ensure the successful execution of the project.
Contractor Edgar Kwesiga reassured stakeholders of his company’s dedication to delivering high-quality infrastructure.
“We are committed to upholding the highest standards in all our projects and ensuring timely completion,” he said.
District Education Officer Fred Bahati emphasized that the new infrastructure was a timely intervention to ease congestion and improve learning conditions.
The school’s headteacher, Nicholas Tumutoreine, expressed gratitude for the development, describing it as a significant boost for both students and staff.
Dr. Stephen Bwekingo, Chairperson of the Board of Governors, praised the district leadership and technical staff for their continuous support and supervision, which he said played a key role in the project’s successful implementation.
With an enrollment of 873 students, Ruhaama Secondary School has been grappling with space limitations.
