Rukungiri: Members under Rubanga My Parish Union in Rubanga Parish, Buyanja Sub-county, Rukungiri District, have successfully handed over a two stance pit latrine they constructed at Kishonga Primary School.

The facility, valued at Ugx 3,230,000, aims to improve sanitation and hygiene standards at the school. The handover ceremony took place on November 10, 2025 at the school premises.

Speaking during the event, Saul Katazahansi, the Chairperson of Rubanga My Parish Union and a prominent businessman in Rukungiri Town, expressed pride in the community’s commitment to developing their area.

Katazahansi said people from the parish have united to support local institutions such as schools and churches to ensure their community does not lag behind.

He appreciated members for their voluntary contributions, noting that giving is a personal choice, and they chose to invest in their parish.

The Headteacher of Kishonga Primary School, Christine Natukunda, expressed gratitude towards Rubanga My Parish Union for identifying the school’s urgent need and providing a timely solution.

She noted that the school’s old pit latrine was distant and in poor condition, making the new facility a crucial addition to the school’s infrastructure.
