Rev. Saison Gumisiriza Installed as Parish Priest of Yakobo Orikwera Buhandagazi C.O.U

Rukungiri: The Archdeacon of Nyabiteete Archdeaconry, Ven. Enock Karamuzi, officially installed Rev. Saison Gumisiriza as the Parish Priest of Yakobo Orikwera Buhandagazi Church of Uganda on Saturday, March 22, 2025.

The installation service took place at Yakobo Orikwera Buhandagazi C.O.U in Nyabiteete Archdeaconry, North Kigezi Diocese.

During the service, Ven. Karamuzi urged Christians to support their church leaders both in words and actions to uphold the reputation of the church.

He also encouraged them to offer guidance whenever church leaders face challenges. Ven Karamuzi commended the congregation for their unwavering support for Rev. Gumisiriza, which has contributed to the church’s growth.

The head of laity at Yakobo Orikwera Buhandagazi C.O.U Benon Tugume, highlighted some of the church’s achievements under Rev. Gumisiriza’s leadership. These include the establishment of a model banana plantation for the church, the construction of three classroom blocks for Buhandagazi Nursery and Primary School, evening prayer sessions that have led to healing and salvation, and strengthened cooperation with other religious denominations in both development and evangelism.

In his speech, Rev. Saison Gumisiriza praised the congregation for their dedication to the church’s development. He emphasized that the church has no external donors, relying solely on the contributions of its members, including elderly Christians who bring offerings like pumpkins every Sunday.

During the installation service, Rev. Saison also held a thanksgiving ceremony where elder Emmanuel Kikoni contributed UGX 2 million. In total, over UGX 5 million was raised at the event.
