Rev. Muhumuza Urges Parents to Value Education as 21 P.7 Pupils Are Dedicated to God at Rugarama P/S
Rukungiri: Twenty-one Primary Seven pupils of Rugarama Primary School have been dedicated to God at St. Luke’s Church of Uganda, Rugarama Sub-parish in Kitojo Parish, Nyabiteete Archdeaconry, ahead of their Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE).
During the dedication service on October 19, the Parish Priest of Kitojo Church of Uganda, Rev. Nathan Muhumuza, told parents that there is nothing greater they can give their children than education. He cautioned parents who believe that since they survived without education, their children can also survive, reminding them that this is the 21st century, not the 19th, when education did not matter much.
Rev. Muhumuza also criticized teachers and elderly men who exploit young girls, saying such behavior ruins their future. He urged parents to educate their children so that they can establish their own identities and homes, rather than depending on others.
He further advised pupils to be disciplined, emphasizing that discipline greatly contributes to academic success.

The Head Teacher of Rugarama Primary School, Ronald Kansiime, said they decided to dedicate the pupils to God to ensure success in their upcoming exams. He explained that despite the recent teachers’ industrial action, Primary Seven pupils continued studying through self-revision and guidance from private teachers.
Kansiime expressed confidence that the pupils will perform well and urged parents to give them enough time and support to focus on their books. He also appreciated the school’s well-wishers, Daniel Kabeho and Lauben Twesigye, for providing sets of exams to help the pupils prepare better.
