Police Arrest Woman For Impersonation In Uace Exams In Rukungiri

Rukungiri: Police in Rukungiri District have arrested a 23-year-old woman for allegedly impersonating a Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) candidate at Bugangari Secondary School.

The suspect, identified as Cleophas Mbamanyire, a student at Kampala University, Luwero Campus, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts with Education, is accused of sitting for the General Paper examination on behalf of one Brenda Akampurira.

According to the Kigezi Regional Police Spokesperson, ASP Elly Maate,  Mbamanyire, who hails from Ruhabo 2A Cell, Rutunguru Parish, Ihunga Sub-county in Ntungamo District, was arrested today November 13, after an intelligence tip-off by the chief invigilator, Masiko Ambrose, who was overseeing the UNEB center.

Police have since recorded statements from key witnesses and retrieved relevant documents, including examination papers, to aid ongoing investigations.
