PFF Members Demand Immediate Release of Dr. Kiiza Besigye and Other Political Prisoners

Rukungiri: Members of the People’s Front for Freedom (PFF) have called for the immediate release of Dr. Kiiza Besigye and other political prisoners currently detained in Luzira Prison.

The call was made on October 28, during a meeting of PFF flag bearers from Rukungiri Municipality, held at the party’s headquarters in Rukungiri.

Speaking at the meeting, Ingrid Turinawe Kamateneti, the PFF flag bearer for Rukungiri Municipality, expressed deep concern over the continued detention of Dr. Besigye and the harsh conditions he is allegedly enduring.

Ingrid criticized government authorities for failing to deliver justice and accused President Museveni’s leadership of neglecting its responsibility to ensure Dr. Besigye’s freedom.

The Councillor for Kinyasano Ward in Western Division and PFF Secretary for Mobilisation, Information, and Publicity in Rukungiri District, Innocent Rubarondesa, together with Gideon Turyamubugana, Councillor for Kanyinya Ward and PFF Information and Publicity Officer for Rukungiri Municipality, also condemned the continued detention of political figures.

They pledged to continue sensitizing the public to elect leaders based on integrity rather than money, while expressing frustration with leaders who have failed to uphold justice.

Meanwhile, the PFF Chairperson for Rukungiri, Aloysius Mugarura, urged all PFF flag bearers to embrace unity and reconciliation as the country heads toward the next elections.
