
People’s front for freedom closes nominations ahead of 2025 general elections
Rukungiri: The opposition political party, People’s Front for Freedom (PFF), has concluded the nomination process for members intending to contest in various positions ahead of the 2025–2026 general elections.
The development was confirmed by the party’s Administrative Secretary, Caleb Musimenta, during a function held at BPF Restaurant in Buyanja Town Council, Rukungiri District.
Musimenta noted that the nomination exercise commenced on July 28, and officially ended July 31. He applauded the peaceful conduct of aspirants and encouraged them to continue engaging the electorate through calm and respectful means that promote a peaceful electoral process.

Among those nominated is the LC3 Chairperson of Buyanja Sub-county Emmy Rubondo, who emphasized that the upcoming elections are an opportunity for the party to demonstrate its strength and capacity. He expressed optimism that the People’s Front for Freedom is gaining popularity and political momentum.
Rubondo urged voters to prioritize candidates based on their vision, character, and understanding of local challenges rather than being influenced by money. He called on citizens to remain vigilant and support leaders who are grounded in the needs of the community.
The People’s Front for Freedom is one of the emerging opposition parties preparing to participate in the 2025–2026 general elections.
