Peace Rugambwa Urges Youth to Embrace Productivity and Support Community Development
Rukungiri: Youth in Rukungiri District have been encouraged to remain productive, acquire business skills, and form development groups to improve their livelihoods and contribute to community growth.
The call was made on November 12, by Peace Rugambwa, the Senior Presidential Advisor on Agriculture and Local People, who also serves as the Chairperson of Boona Bagaigahare Nyekundire Group in South Western Uganda. She was addressing boda boda riders, ghetto youth, and other local residents during a meeting held at Platinums Hotel in Buyanja Town Council, Rukungiri District.
Rugambwa urged the youth, especially those from the ghetto, to avoid negative influences and instead engage in meaningful activities that promote household income and reduce harmful behaviors such as delinquency and negative peer pressure.
She emphasized the importance of focus, hard work, and discipline as key steps toward building a bright future.
Rugambwa also called on the youth to value and safeguard peace within their communities, noting that President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni sent her to work closely with local people to help them fight poverty and achieve self-reliance.
She encouraged young people to form groups as a means of empowerment and community development, adding that unity and cooperation are vital for progress.
Rugambwa further appealed to the public to protect the achievements made under the current government and, in the forthcoming elections, to support NRM flag bearers and President Museveni for continued stability and development.
