Parents Urged to Provide Scholastic Materials and Support School Development

Rukungiri: Parents have been urged to take an active role in their children’s education by providing essential scholastic materials such as books, pens, and other learning tools to help them stay focused and succeed in school.

This call was made on April 30, by the aspiring Member of Parliament for Rukungiri Municipality Andrew Akunda Kiikira, during the Annual General Meeting of the Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) at Kinyasano Boarding Primary School, located in Kinyasano Ward, Western Division, Rukungiri Municipality.

Andrew Kikira, who is one of the school’s former students, also urged parents to work closely with the school administration to prioritize infrastructure development, which he described as a key pillar of education. He said that such partnerships ensure schools have the necessary facilities and resources to create a conducive learning environment that benefits the students.

He also encouraged parents to engage in side income-generating activities or join development associations to improve their household incomes and better support their children’s education.
