Parents Urged to Instill Life Skills in Children During Holidays.
Rukungiri: The hopeful district councilor for Nyakagyeme Sub-County Rogers Abaho, has encouraged parents to teach their children essential domestic skills during the holiday, emphasizing that such skills sharpen young minds.
Abaho made these remarks on December 2, during a graduation ceremony for top-class pupils transitioning to primary school at Top Care Nursery and Primary School in Nyaruzinga Ward, Ndere Parish, Ruhinda Sub county, Rukungiri District.
He urged parents to prioritize supporting their children holistically, highlighting the importance of compassion and guidance for their success.
The school’s director, Jones Bekunda, also addressed the event, urging the headteacher to work collaboratively with staff to restore the school’s reputation and foster growth. Bekunda stressed that trustworthiness among staff is crucial for stability and development. He further encouraged parents to value and support teachers for shaping their children with good morals, noting that this strengthens the bond between teachers and pupils.
Headteacher Moses Mujuni reported that the school currently has 195 pupils, with over 35 graduating from the nursery section to primary school. He commended parents for their unwavering commitment to their children’s education.
The councilor for Ndere Parish in Ruhinda Sub county Ruth Asiimwe, advised parents to remain vigilant during the holiday. She urged them to guide and pray for their children, emphasizing that this would help nurture creativity and ensure a bright future.
