Parents Urged to Baptize Their Children to Welcome Them Into the Christian Faith
Rukungiri: Parents have been urged to always baptize their children, as baptism is the sacrament of initiation that welcomes a person into the Christian family, washes away original sin, and bestows sanctifying grace.
This message was delivered on October 27, by Rev. Fr. Prosper Turyahabwe, a formator at St. Charles Lwanga Seminary Nyakibale, during the baptism of Mackenzie Muruhura Mweeza, son to Country Radio Chief Editor and political talk show host, Mweeze Moses Barwagye, and his wife Mercy. The ceremony was held at their home in Nyarutooma Village, Nyakabungo Parish, Buyanja Sub-County, Rukungiri District.
The function began with Mass led by Rev. Fr. Turyahabwe, which also included in the thanksgiving of Moses’ parents, Henry and Rosemary Barwagye.
In his sermon, Rev. Fr. Turyahabwe encouraged Christians to always be thankful to God, who protects and sustains them in all situations, even while they are asleep. He emphasized the importance of baptizing children, explaining that through baptism, the Holy Spirit enters their lives and cleanses them from all sin. He further urged believers to remain prayerful and aware of the power of the Holy Spirit, which enables them to overcome evil.

The Parents, Henry and Rosemary Barwagye thanked the Almighty God for the gift of life and appreciated Rev. Fr. Turyahabwe for accepting to celebrate Mass in their home. They also thanked all the people who joined them for the occasion and pledged to remain prayerful and faithful to God.

In his remarks, Mweeze Moses expressed gratitude to Country Radio staff, Rev. Fr. Turyahabwe, his family, friends, and community members for honoring their invitation. He also pledged to support them whenever possible.
The function was graced by businessman and NRM member Charleson Kwikiriza Batsigira, who served as the guest of honor.
