Over 200 P.7 Candidates Receive Mathematical Sets In Rukungiri Municipality

Rukungiri: Over 200 Primary Seven candidates from seven schools in Rukungiri Municipality have received mathematical sets ahead of the Primary Leaving Examinations.

The beneficiary schools include Rukungiri Primary School, Kitimba Primary School, Kitazigurukwa Primary School, Katwekamwe Primary School, Marumba Christian Primary School, Nyakibale Lower Primary School, and Kakonkoma Primary School.

The donation, which took place on October 27, was led by the Councilor for Kanyinya Ward in Southern Division, Rukungiri Municipality, Gideon Turyamubugana, who noted that this marks the sixth year he has supported P.7 candidates in the division.

Turyamubugana said his support is not politically motivated but aimed at promoting education in both government and private schools. He added that his goal is to ease the burden on parents and boost learners’ confidence by ensuring they have all the necessary materials for their final exams.

Turyamubugana further urged the candidates to remain disciplined and trust in what they have learned as they prepare for their final examinations.

Speaking on behalf of the headteachers, Henry Byaruhanga of Nyakibale Lower Primary School and Peace Nimusiima of Kitazigurukwa Primary School thanked Gideon for his continued support, noting that many pupils from humble backgrounds would have struggled to afford mathematical sets.

They appreciated the initiative, saying it eases the financial burden on parents and motivates learners to perform better.

Candidates representing various schools, including Allan Gumisiriza, Patience Akatukunda, and Brendah Ninsiima, expressed their gratitude for the donation. They said the support has relieved them of the worry of lacking examination materials and pledged to work hard to produce excellent results in the PLE.
