One dead, 2 injured in Kisoro road accident.

Kisoro: Police in Kisoro have confirmed the death of one person who was involved in a road accident on Saturday February 14, 2026.

The deceased has been identified as Martin Akansiima, 28, a casual labourer and resident of Kyogo village, Kamwezi sub-county in Rukiga District.

Kigezi region Police Spokesperson ASP Elly Maate told our reporter that the accident which left two other people injured occurred at about 02:00PM in Kagoma village along Kyanakye-Mukaka road in Kanaba sub-county.

He said the injured victims are the driver and another passenger whose particulars are yet to be ascertained.

According to ASP Maate, a vehicle, Fuso fighter white in colour, registration number UAW 876C loaded with onions was coming from Kagoma heading to Kyanakye in a rainy afternoon when it overturned in a valley in Kyanakye village killing Akansiima who was sitting in the co-driver’s seat on spot.

The accident scene was visited by a team of traffic officers who rushed the victims to Mutolere hospital for mediation and the body of the deceased was taken to Kisoro hospital mortuary for postmortem.

Maate said police have launched investigations to establish the actual cause of the accident.
