Nyarushanje Catholic Parish Raises UGX 140 Million for BAAF Development Projects

Rukungiri: Christians of Nyarushanje Catholic Parish in Nyarushanje Sub County, Rukungiri District have raised over UGX 140 million during the Bishop’s Annual Appeal Fund (BAAF) to support the construction of terrazzo flooring inside Nyarushanje Catholic Church.

While delivering his message on November 16, during the fundraising, the Kabale Diocese Financial Coordinator Rev. Fr. Innocent Naturinda, who represented Bishop Callistus Rubaramira, urged Christians to continue working together to support church facilities. He emphasized the importance of providing essential services, especially to disadvantaged members of the community.

Fr. Naturinda also praised parishioners for backing the BAAF initiatives. He noted that establishing sustainable sources of income for the diocese will promote self-reliance and reduce dependence on constant contributions from Christians.

The Presidential Advisor on Politics Francis Batinta, who represented the guest of honour Esther Rwabugumi, called for peaceful politics as the country approaches the next elections. He urged the public to work together, stressing that there is life after politics.

The Parish Priest of Nyarushanje Cathoilic Parish, Rev. Fr. Elias Katsigire, expressed appreciation to Christians for their continued fundraising efforts. He promised transparency and accountability in the management of the collected funds.

Fr. Katsigire encouraged Christians to remain patient and hardworking, reminding them that one by one makes abundance. He emphasized the need for sustained efforts to keep the parish projects moving forward.
