Nyakishenyi SS Nangala holds mega sports day.
Rukungiri:The chairperson LCIII for Nyakishenyi sub-county Wednesday Twinomujuni has asked students to be disciplined if they want to succeed in life.
Twinomujuni was speaking on Wednesday 21st Febuary 2024 during the sports day at Nyakishenyi secondary school Nangala in Nyakishenyi sub-county of Rukungiri district.
The chairperson said most people have failed to make it in life because of indiscipline.
He further commended the school leadership for posting good results in the 2023 UCE exams despite the few years in existence.

On his part, the school headteacher Rev Ivan Mwongyera told the event attendees that the school started in 2019 with only six students but the number has since risen to 230 and is expected to increase further.
Rev Mwongyera said that the school started as a presidential pledge and they are optimistic that soon, the government will give them the construction grant.
He further mentioned that the school performed well in last year’s UCE exams where 2 students came in first division, 9 in division two, 12 in division three and 12 in division four.

The sports teacher at Nyakishenyi secondary school Nangala Moses Kwarikunda hailed the teams (Houses) for participating and congratulated the winners upon taking the day.

Four houses at the school namely Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda participated in the games.
However, Kenya were crowned as winners of boys football competition after defeating Uganda with 2-1 in the finals while Tanzania won the one for girls after thrashing Rwanda 1-0.
