North Kigezi Diocese Officially Retires 8 Priests During Ordination Ceremony

Rukungiri: The North Kigezi Diocese has officially retired eight priests from active service after many years of dedicated ministry.

Their retirement was announced on December 7, during the ordination of seven new clergy in a ceremony held at Emmanuel Cathedral Kinyasano grounds in Rukungiri District.

Those retired include Rev. Bernard Kwesigwa, Rev. Jameson Byekwaso, Rev James Kwesiga, Rev. Eliasam Kagukya, Rev. David Twongyirwe, Rev. Nelson Twebaze, Rev. Ven. James Tumusiime, and the former Dean of Emmanuel Cathedral Kinyasano, Rev. Canon Eric Beingana Mugyenzi, who has been serving as the Diocesan Secretary.

The Bishop of North Kigezi Diocese, Rt. Rev. Onesmus Asiimwe, reminded Christians that retirement is a normal practice in the Anglican Church when one reaches the required age. He thanked the priests for their faithful service and appreciated their spouses for carrying the responsibility of supporting ministry work.
